I’m Tom Bisio, creator of the Daoist Yoga Online Program. I have been practicing and teaching Chinese internal martial arts, Qi Gong, and Daoist Health Arts since 1984. After running a busy Chinese medicine clinic for 25 years, I came to realize that it was more valuable to teach people how to prevent disease and lead a healthy life, then to perform medical treatments after they were already ill. I decided to devote my time to researching and teaching internal martial arts and Daoist health practices that keep people healthy and restore optimal functioning. An important part maintaining health is the regular performance of exercises like Daoist Yoga, which not only strengthen the muscles, but also promote health and longevity, prevent disease, and cultivate a clear and present spirit.
In the course of my research, I rediscovered Daoist Yoga, one of the rare gems of the ancient Yang Sheng (Nourishing Life) practices created by mountain hermits and Daoist sages. Many of these practices have become lost and diluted in the modern world. Daoist Yoga is such a powerful and effective tool for promoting health and longevity, and returning to a natural way of being, that I decided to create this program so that everyone can reap the benefits of this unique and very effective self-cultivation practice.
